Care

Assisted Living

A living option for seniors or individuals who require assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, or medication management while maintaining a level of independence. Assisted living facilities offer personalized care plans and social activities that promote quality of life for their residents.

Independent Living

Designed to help older adults who want to maintain an active and independent lifestyle, these communities offer services and amenities that cater to residents’ needs, while encouraging a sense of community and freedom from the responsibilities of owning a home.

Memory Care

Memory care communities offer specialized care and support for individuals dealing with memory-related conditions, such as Alzheimer’s or dementia. These facilities are equipped with trained staff and offer engaging activities designed to promote well-being while ensuring a safe living environment.

Life Plan/CCRCs

Also referred to as Life Plan Communities, these communities offer a comprehensive continuum of care for residents. CCRCs offer multiple levels of care, allowing seniors to transition between independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing care as their needs change throughout their aging journey.

Active Adult

Active adult communities are vibrant residential neighborhoods designed specifically for individuals typically 55 and older. These communities offer a range of amenities, as well as recreational and social activities.

Skilled Nursing

Skilled nursing and nursing homes are residential facilities that offer medical care and support for individuals that require a higher level of medical attention and assistance. These are staffed by licensed healthcare providers and offer a range of services to ensure the well-being and comfort of residents.

Transit Score®, when available, measures how well a location is served by public transit. Scores range from 0 to 100, with higher scores indicating more amenities within walking distance and diverse transit options nearby.

My aunt and uncle moved here a few years ago. My mom and I visited many times and we thought it was such a lovely place. Then my uncle passed away in December and University Village was amazing in helping care for my Aunt. The nursing staff is wonderful and really cares about all the residents. I was happily surprised at how much attention and care they were giving my aunt (just one resident). And then when it was apparent that my aunt needed to be in assisted care the staff helped in finding another place close by (since University Village has a waiting list, unfortunately for us). And when I had to help move her to the new place (they had no children) and was stressed out, to say the least, University Village not only supported me in every possible way but really helped me in every step of the move. I really could not have done any of it without them. Everyone was so attentive and helpful. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you're looking for a loved one or if you're looking for yourself, they care about each of their residents so very much. I am very sad that we had to move my Aunt to somewhere else, but I am so very happy that my aunt and uncle were able to live there for the few years they did. Thank you so very much University Village.

In 2010, it was time for our dad to move to California to be closer to family. We were so fortunate to have found University Village in Thousand Oaks! Not only is it a beautiful retirement community; it has an incredible team of kind and genuinely caring managers and caregivers for the residents. They all worked well together and were always very pleasant no matter what. The staff were never too busy to address any of his concerns and were so very kind to him all the way up to the last day of his life. Our dad could not have received better care anywhere else!

There are so many good things to say about UVTO, I don't know where to start! First is the fact that it's probably the most welcoming community of people I have ever seen, from staff to residents. You can choose among a wealth of different types of activities, or quietly retreat within the beautiful grounds or the comfort of your home. I am particularly impressed with how thoughtfully the entire property is laid out. The buildings are situated on different levels and surrounded by abundant landscaping. It is an absolutely beautiful property! Moving here was one of the best decisions my husband and I ever made!

My mother in law refers to it as being on a permanent cruise. It’s like a beautiful resort, and is administered by an incredible human being.
