My mother was recently at Magnolia Trails at The Waterford. She was in the late stages of a disease called PSP which includes some dementia. We needed to make a move because of some unforseen circumstances. From the first minute we met with the facility to her last breath 4 weeks later, we were treated with such dignity and respect. My mom had a lot of cares and was fragile but the caregivers treated her so gently. They were gracious to us as family. The facility itself is clean and well cared for. Their menu was appetizing and diverse. But the people set them above. There was not a single caregiver or employee, whether they were kitchen help, a cleaner, that didn't treat us with respect or help us when we needed it. In my mom's last hours, they were so caring. Thank you for walking with us through this time

It’s hard for my family member to get her weekly shower! Sometimes its 3 weeks between showers. It’s hard for her to have her compression socks applied daily! She needs compression socks Because of poor circulation, and they prevent blisters from forming on her feet and legs. There is a doctor’s order for these. I also don't think she is getting help changing incontinence garments and doing hygiene on a daily basis, consequently she is prone to fungal infections in her private area.. I documented these deficiencies over and over verbally and in writing and have submitted these issues to the care staff supervisor and the general manager over and over again without consistant improvement. Sometimes there is poor follow through with doctors orders that come from the clinic, i.e. orders are not initiated until i check on it

The love, care, and compassion demonstrated yesterday, December 31, 2023 was amazing. This particular staff member that I'm referring to is extraordinary like their activities director, Jasmine❣️ Glad my Mom gets to experience these women; thanks for 🙌Blessing my Mom and our family 💝

Like most elderly facility, typically short staffed. Was promised by sales director Ellen that they would check on my mother every 2hrs. Didn't happen. They weren't changing her wet under garments on regular basis. She needed more assistance than what they gave her. Be careful to not be sold by promises being made by the sales director, that's her job is to sell. Nor once while visiting did they ask my mother to ho to an acti b its, like promised. I would think twice before placing a loved one at the Waterford.
