I highly recommend Residence at Great Woods. From management, all the staff, and residents they are all so pleasant, helpful, and make you feel like family. My Mom is in the Reflection Neighborhood & I could not ask for a better place for her to be. All the staff is so kind and trained to handle the special care these residents need. They have to be a special group of people to be so kind and patient with all the residents. Thank you to everyone at the Residence at Great Woods! ❤️

WARNING!!!!!!!!!! STAFF STOLE MY GRANDMOTHER'S DIAMOND RINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first one was my great grandmother's ring passed down to my Mimi and it went missing last fall (a few months before she passed away). We assumed she lost it, but she kept insisting that she put it back in her jewelry box before going to the hospital. Mind you, my grandmother did not have any issues with her memory whatsoever, she was incredibly sharp to the very end. We also have photos of her wearing it right before the hospital and never wearing it again after coming back. We didn't notice right away because she was in and out of the hospital and she was travelled up north with us for Christmas. It all immediately clicked for us the day after she passed away in January of this year. The morning that she passed away with family by her side, we put her ENGAGEMENT ring in that same jewelry box in her dresser (where she kept her other ring as well). We left that afternoon to go home and rest, planning to come back the NEXT MORNING to begin collecting things and we LOCKED the door behind us. I even said to family "should we take her rings?" as I had a suspicion about the first one because in addition to her having a great memory, I've also seen firsthand how poorly she was treated. My family responded "no, they're in her dresser, we'll lock the door, & we'll be back in the morning"... But of course when we come back in the morning, the ring is gone. Staff members have master keys, and one came into my deceased grandmother's room between 4pm on January 19th and 11 am on January 20th to steal the ring that my grandfather proposed to her with in 1964. We kept quiet and had the police handle it privately with management as we mourned the loss of my Mimi, but nothing has been resolved. I feel absolutely violated on behalf of my grandmother, I am disgusted with this establishment and their lack of security and ability to hire trustworthy staff. If you or a loved one is living here, please put up cameras and extra security - ask questions and report to the Norton Police Department if you notice things go missing.

I toured the Residence at Great Woods on 5/11. What a lovely facility ! It was flooded with natural light which made it cheery and easy to navigate. Each room felt warm and inviting . There seems to be endless opportunities for activities , to gather and socialize, or to find a quiet corner to read or visit with family and friends . Staff was very friendly and engaged with the residents. A relief to know that this place exists as an option on our family’s list when the time comes.

The CNA’s took very good care of my 91-year old mother. The Activities people were so much fun! There was a different activity for my mother throughout each day. She was never bored. The food is fantastic! A full meal 3 times a day including salad and dessert, plus a snack late afternoon. The place is very clean and they have a diffuser with a pine scent which is very calming. The walls are a nice sage green as this has been discovered that is the last color the elderly can see with ease. Her room had a beautiful view of the court yard which they have access to anytime because they will not become lost as all the doors lead to the same place. The nursing staff didn’t need reminders and were on top of my mother’s medications. Whenever I called with a concern, they returned my call soon and spent as much time as I needed to explain things. They dressed my mother in a respectful manner each day and made sure she was groomed even doing her nails. It is a secure section of the facility which placed our minds at ease. Unfortunately, 2 staff members contracted COVID which was passed on to my mother which resulted in her speedy decline and passing. But, one doesn’t realize they have COVID until they’ve already been around patients. Once the staff knew they had COVID, they stayed away until they were negative. When my mother died, the staff were very sympathetic and very helpful in processing her death and moving her things out.
