After visiting many highly respected facilities, our family chose The Residence in Basking Ridge knowing Mom would get the best care available. Ally and Andi were instrumental in educating our family on the benefits of a highly structured, research and technology based approach to memory care, and on our initial visits showcased how this philosophy is carried out by the wonderful and talented nurses, caregivers and staff daily within the community. Mom is treated with dignity, spoiled with love and respect, and gently persuaded to remain active and engaged, and loves being there. Although Mom and her well being always comes first, their care doesn’t just stop with residents. Our family continues to become more aware of Alzheimer’s and how it affects Mom’s thinking and day to day life. Attending the “A Walk In Their Shoes” program gave us great insight into understanding the challenges Mom faces and ways we can better communicate and interact with her. Mom regained her sense of purpose over the past few months and is flourishing; thanks to all for caring so much and for helping Mom feel so special and loved every day! There is no doubt in our hearts that we made the right decision in selecting The Residence in Basking Ridge as her new home.

From the moment you walk through their doors, there's a warmth that goes beyond the beautiful facilities. The staff doesn't just provide care – they create genuine connections with residents, treating them like extended family. Whether it's the caregivers who know my sister's preferences and routines, every team member contributes to making this place feel like home. What truly sets The Residence at Basking Ridge apart is their commitment to quality of life. They understand that care isn't just about medical attention – it's about fostering joy, dignity, and purpose. My sister participates in engaging activities, enjoys nutritious and delicious meals, and is forming friendships with fellow residents. My Mother was a bit apprehensive about leaving her home of 40 years to move into the Residence. The team made it very easy for her to make the move and feel at home from the minute she walked through the front door. The facility is new, modern and very clean. There is a Nurse on staff 24/7. Safety is not a concern. The staff knows all the residents very well and provides detailed, individual care. The staff is amazing. They treat you with attention and dignity. There are non-stop activities that are available to choose from daily. The dining area is very friendly with great food. Daily specials and a changing, seasonal menu. The wait service makes you feel like you are in a five-star restaurant. For a change of pace, "The Bistro" on the 2nd floor is open on a limited basis. If you want to catch a movie, the theatre is open several days a week. The salon offers beauty options without the hassle of travel. The daily happy hour that follows bingo is a great social event. Excursions are weekly and include shopping, places of worship and entertainment. My Mother does not miss her old home and looks forward to her day, every day at the Residence!! She has made many new friends and has a new energy that she did not have in her old home. My Mother and I have no regrets about the move!!!

This place looks so beautiful but looks can be very deceiving. Staff is anxious to make a sale and get you to move in. They never follow through on their promises. High staff turn over. Nobody is ever available to answer questions or return your call. No update on how your loved one is doing. An aide gave my mom covid. She was quarantined to her room for 2 weeks. They did not tend to her. She was ambulance to a hospital in only a wet tee shirt. Ultimately they could not take care of her upon her return. So we had to find a place with skilled nursing to care for my mom. Mind you she was mobile and no issues prior to getting covid from This place. We moved my mom to sunrise. Should have gone here from the beginning. This place is amazing and has top notch care. The staff constantly gave me updates as I requested at the residences but never got an update on my mother's care. Ultimately sadly my mom passed away. I blame them residences for not taking proper care of my mom and looking after her. She left in an ambulance after being quarantined for 10 days. That is old protocol..I am embarrassed for the staff there. They did not even show up.for my moms funeral after paying over 100k to live there In less than a year. . 9 months. Total rip off . The staff is pretentious and acts like they are your friend but once you leave they block you on social media. We had to pay 2 months of rent after my mom left. Unheard of. Sunrise ended our agreement from the date of death. The residences had my mom in memory care. Sunrise had her in a regular room not in need of memory care. I would not send a pet to live at this awful place. It may look good but buyer beware. Memory care there sucks. Don't go..rip off. BTW they took down my last comment.
