My mom has been at The Pavilion on the memory care side since 2022. I previously had my dad there also for 6 years on the assisted living side until He passed away in 2016. The Pavilion has always taken great care of my mom and I feel Like she is being truly loved on while she is there. It is always clean when I am There and I feel like they always have a handle on where every resident is or what they are doing. I feel They are very safe. They also have lots of activities for their residents. Jane the Executive Director has been very professional and easy to deal with on any communication we have had. She helped our family with a tragedy that was unexpected earlier this year which delayed me handling finances for my mom. She was very patient and understanding while we got it figured out. I know it’s never easy to have to place our loved ones in a facility, but I would highly recommend them and I have recommended them to other friends over the years.

Unfortunately for my mother, we had a rather poor experience at the Pavilion. Some details below, but after paying the non-refundable community fee and 1st month's rent, within only 4 weeks I was forced (by conscience) to seek a better living situation for her. The main issue; within 5 days of arriving, my mother had a fall which resulted in her requiring hands-on assistance to transfer from bed to wheelchair to recliner and vice versa. The end result being she was left in bed most of the time (including meals) to the point she started developing bed sores. Despite multiple discussions with the nursing director and assurances the staff could handle her condition, things did not improve over a 3 week span. Thus I made the decision to move her despite all the difficulties and expense that involved. While there were other issues, the lack of the staff’s ability or willingness to get her up on a consistent basis is the main reason for the poor review and why I felt I had to move her. I could go into more details and issues, but my experience is such that I would definitely NOT recommend the Pavilion for anyone that may require more than minimal assistance. Note, at the Pavilion, I was told my mother was a 2-3 person transfer. At her new home/facility, she is a 1 person transfer and is up and included in group activities everyday.

Played music at The Pavilion at Great Hills again on 5/24/24 to help celebrate Memorial Day weekend. Had a fun time, as always. The residents seem to really enjoy hearing and singing along with the classic Rock-n-Roll and Country tunes I play. My thanks to them!

My mom loves it here. I’m a nurse and I find the care they give here is excellent!
