In the heart of this city is Shawnee Memory Care – a unique person-centered community where partnerships are designed to empower elders living with memory loss. We are improving quality of life, enhancing dignity, honoring choice, supporting independence, and promoting positive well-being.
Our nurses and care partners provide care and support 24/7 in a warm setting designed for the unique needs of adults with Alzheimer’s or other memory loss. Whether a person is just starting to experience challenges with memory, or they have been living with Alzheimer’s or dementia for quite some time, our experienced and professional teams provide kindness, support, and empathy to elders and their families.

From the first time we started looking into Shawnee Memory Care, everyone was kind, supportive and considerate. We felt very confident in the care that Mom would receive. I have been there at all different times and various days of the week. Every time the staff are involved with the care of the residents!! It’s not any easy job caring for people in the shape and various stages, but they do and 99% of the time with a smile! Morgan always takes care of the maintenance needs quickly and Marissa is always smiling. Jamie and Leota take good care of the folks and you can tell they really care about the residents. I feel confident in the care my mom receives and where she is now!!

We have our mom at SMC. The staff there is amazing. From the beginning when we met with them, they were so helpful with getting her all set up to come there. They worked with us and answered so many phone calls. The staff that cares for our mom is amazing. Every time we come by, they are treating her with loving care. They often have her smiling and laughing. They know us by name and are always so friendly and helpful. They remember that she is a real person with feelings and fears, they don't just treat her like a patient. We are very happy with the care and attention she receives.

These fine folks looked after my Dad until he passed in December 2023. I don't know all of the staff there, but everyone took great care of my Dad on a personal, one on one level. Not only did the staff carefully and graciously look after my Dad, but they also cared for my Mom, making sure that she had a vital support network. Thank you to all the staff at Shawnee Memory Care.

I am so glad that my grandma was at Shawnee Memory Care for the end of her life. It is a very nice facility, but even better are the people. The staff loved my grandma and took the best care of her. I want to make a special mention of Marissa—thank you for loving my grandma. She loved you, too.
