Northbrook Inn

Words cannot express how grateful we are to the staff at Northbrook Inn. Mom has been a resident for almost 6 years and they have taken amazing care of her through all her stages. The facility is always clean and the food is outstanding. The residents are treated with respect and even loved. Thank you Northbrook Inn!

We are SO thankful to the Northbrook Inn and their staff! We moved one relative here from another memory care facility, and the difference was like night and day. He went from being angry and sad to smiling and enjoying life again. We moved another family member in after she had issues being independent. She went from always being confused and stressed at not keeping it together, to being organized and much more aware of what is going on. The staff are amazing and Jenn sets the tone for the entire facility. We never worry about if our relatives are well cared for and as happy as possible. Memory care is really hard, but the Northbrook Inn does an amazing job with a terrible situation.

My uncle is a resident of Northbrook Inn. My brother and I have been taking care of him for years. He has Alzheimer’s but is in good shape physically and active. We chose Northbrook Inn after a referral from a family friend who ultimately decided her mom needed to stay in Milwaukee but was so impressed with Northbrook Inn she encouraged us to check it out. We had checked plenty of places and none of them felt right. We were super uncomfortable with putting him in Memory Care. But after meeting with Jen Pasternak and her team we trusted Jen and knew this would be a good place. After talking to Jen we stopped thinking of it as “putting him in” and began to think of it as protecting him and helping him improve his life. And that is exactly what happened. As Jen said, and we doubted but came to see, he has made friends, is much less frustrated and angry, and instead of sitting alone in his room he is out and about at Northbrook Inn. The change has been remarkable. Jen Pasternak is a terrific person, a truly kind and devoted leader of Northbrook Inn, and somebody I trust completely. Jen and her staff work all the time and are completely devoted to their residents. Two weeks ago, my uncle was hospitalized for the first time in his life. Being in the hospital is tough for anybody. For an elderly person with dementia it can be disastrous. During this time Jen was constantly available to talk to us, guide us, be a source of support and a resource. We were able to get him released and a week later he is doing remarkably well: he is talking, feeding himself and has a good appetite, and his memory is the same as it was. Tomorrow he is being evaluated for physical therapy. My uncle, myself and our entire family are profoundly grateful for the excellent care Northbrook Inn provides my uncle.

All of the people who work at Northbrook Inn treat the residents like their own grandma's and grandpa's - with loving kindness and utmost respect. One caregiver who always seems to go above and beyond is Roland. He anticipates what is needed and works accordingly. I feel so confident in the care my dad receives.
