Our family is greatly disappointed in the Assisted Living management at Morningstar (Exec Dire, LPN, RN). Being new to assisted living we didn’t really know what to expect but had assumed communication about issues with the family would occur. During the 6 months my parents were residents, if I didn’t hear from the Morningstar team I would contact them to see how things were going. So I was totally caught off guard by what occurred several weeks ago. My mother had been having trouble keeping up with their toileting program and also developed a pressure sore while there. In my opinion this led to her being taken out of the facility by an ambulance on Labor Day weekend and placed at the hospital with no prior notice to the family. This in itself was troubling but what occurred the next two weeks is why I am making this complaint. Once she got to the hospital they were unable to admit her because under Medicare rules she had no medical issues. Later that day the hospital contacted Morningstar and informed them she was fine and asked she be brought back to the facility but the Morningstar executive director refused to have my mom come back. Over the next 10 days the hospital and the Idaho State Ombudsman both contacted the facility several times to work out a solution because my mother was just sitting in the hospital while I scrambled to understand what was needed and find a new assisted living facility for her and my dad. It was a very upsetting time for all of us. The Morningstar management basically forced us to move to another facility under incredible stress when they could have simply allowed my mother back to the facility and issued a 30 day notice, per the contract and accomplished the same outcome. We do NOT recommend the Meridian Morningstar facility. I personally think you would be better off to find a facility that treats your parents as vulnerable people who need ‘assistance’ rather than tenants who happen to be elderly.

It's a fairly nice place and for the most part people are happy but they definitely do not go the extra mile. I'm there every week visiting a family member. They only clean the windows once a year and they get really gross, the stairs are almost never vacuumed, there were many lights burned out in the hallways. Also, no matter how many years someone is there, they never go through and do a deep cleaning in the apartments. (like carpet cleaning)

Morningstar is a place I wouldn’t mind living in one day! I visit clients there pretty regularly, I do mobile pedicures. Whenever I’m there, the activities board looks super fun. my clients all talk about outings and events, as well as the good food. It’s clean and smells nice. But more importantly , every resident I’ve encountered has been cheerful and happy, very friendly atmosphere!

The nice lady at the front desk was very helpful in giving clear detailed instructions to the apt. we were looking for. The atmosphere and cleanliness of the whole place was very welcoming.
