My family moved our mom into Morada Meadow Lakes, following on the heels of some friends of hers who also moved there from the same assisted living facility. Everything about Morada was superior! What impressed us the most was how everyone at Morada, residents AND staff, seemed to be so much happier than at either of Mom's last two residences. Unfortunately, Mom passed away recently after a brief illness, so she only got to enjoy Morada for about 7 months. The staff have been incredibly gracious throughout this experience, especially Tanya, the Executive Director. When my time comes to need an Independent Living facility, I would choose Morada in a heartbeat.

My mom has lived there the past 5 years. We moved her because she was lonely and bored at home. At Morada, she has made many very good friends. She enjoyed the some of the activities they have there such as line dancing, bingo, and crafts. They have several people come in throughout the year to play music. They also have outings to restaurants and to the store. The staff here is wonderful!! They are all so caring and kind. I highly recommend this facility.

Well... I have lived at Meadow Lakes for nearly 15 years! Needless to say, I enjoy living here or I would have moved. I really like to meet new friends as they come and go. We have lot's of fun. (well..most of us do) It is home to me and I really enjoy the trips we make in our bus and our van. When there is no more covid to worry about, I am sure we will get back to having more outings. We even have transportation to markets, banks, doctors, etc. as needed. I wouldn't want to go back to living by myself in a house someplace. We are kept just as busy as we want to be, or we can have our own time to read, etc. Our libraries are great!.

I checked out a few places and Morada Meadow Lakes stood out simply because it didn't feel or smell like a nursing home. It's more of a college dorm with walkers. The staff and other residents are great and I've gotten to know many of them very well. My mom has been there nine months now and she was a little apprehensive at first but now gets up, dresses, takes her meds, and heads down the hall for breakfast. Most days she doesn't come back to her apartment until after dinner in the evening. She has a core group of friends and they all meet in the lobby for fun and games and she has occasionally complained that her stomach hurts from laughing so much. With her Alzheimer's, she can't remember their names but they have become family. We both enjoy the food and she gets plenty to eat. She is close so I stop by twice a week, I do her laundry and she spends Sunday afternoons at my house. Many residents have pets and while my mom wouldn't be able to care for one, she has adopted everyone else's dogs and never leaves her room without treats for them. Sometimes I worry that her condition would make her a better candidate for a full-blown nursing home but with talking alarm clocks to remind her to take her meds, her walker, electric recliner, FaceTime on her phone, a Ring camera that allows me to check in on her once in awhile, and the helpful staff, she is safe and we seem to get things done. I'd recommend taking a tour, having lunch there and see what you think. They are right in the middle of a big remodeling in the public areas but once it is done, it should look great.
