Highland Estates

They have no CNA on staff. They have less staff on duty than they said. Was suppose to be 2 people at all times in Memory care. That was not what we experience. The nurse did not do an adequate assessment and approved my Mom for admission when they did not have the staff or expertise to handle it. I felt the nurse had an obligation to explain moving a patient with dementia can make them deteriorate. The placed smelled throughout the memory care. Definitely needs to have carpet replaced. I pray that improvement will be made in the facility and staffing.

Pros: The residents were very kind and the aides were kind. Cons: Memory care wing had a very strong urine odor. Dried food was stuck on the hand rails and needed to be cleaned. Our loved one was in the facility for two short weeks and fell out of bed three times. I highly recommend putting security camera in your loved ones room to help the facility evaluate how to eliminate as many falls as possible. There are no walking paths to push wheelchairs or for assisted living residents to walk on, just a very short distance of a sidewalk.

I really enjoyed working for Highland. The staff and management was amazing. The residents are awesome. It’s a safe and caring environment for all parties involved. They care about your families wellbeing. Would take my loved one here.

I placed my mother here months ago... My only regret is not placing her here sooner. She resides in the memory care unit and has blossomed in their care. She is a little like her old self and I'm glad to see it. The nursing staff is one of the best around, and definitely more competant than those at other facilities I looked at. They have been nothing but kind and helpful and I am beyond appreciative at this point 5 stars, I'd recommend this facility to anyone
