Heartis is top notch!! Facility feels like home from the minute you walk in. Location is awesome with beautiful water views to enjoy sunsets and sunrises. But the staff is what really makes Heartis a special place! My mom and sister just moved in and feel safe, love the staff and are enjoying the food. Highly recommend Heartis for that next step.

My father-in-law has been a resident at Heartis Assisted Living facility in Venice, FL, for around two years, and I can't express enough how impressed we are with this place. It stands out as the nicest independent living facility I have ever toured. The environment is bright, open, and spacious, making it a warm and inviting place for residents and visitors alike. Every visit is a pleasure, especially around dinner time when my father-in-law invites us to dine at the fantastic on-site restaurant. The meals are outstanding, with a variety that caters to all tastes. My wife is particularly fond of the grilled salmon on salad, which they always prepare with a smile. The chili, pasta dishes, and soups are consistently delicious, and even a simple grilled cheese sandwich becomes a gourmet experience thanks to the exceptional chefs, Lens and Ali. Their culinary skills and accommodating nature truly enhance the dining experience. The staff at Heartis are exceptional. Diana, our waitress, is incredibly sweet and attentive, making every meal a delightful experience. Bernie, my father-in-law, is quite smitten, though he adores all the ladies there! From the moment you walk in, Judy and Dee greet you with warm smiles, and Marilyn, the manager, is the epitome of efficiency and kindness. Her support during my father-in-law's move was exemplary. Even after Ian when the building suffered some roof damage, the maintenance staff also deserves praise for their respectful and discreet service, ensuring the residents' comfort and privacy even during repairs. The array of activities available is impressive, from puzzles and card games to movie nights and live entertainment, ensuring there's always something fun to do. The views from the apartments are stunning, with beautiful water vistas that add to the serene atmosphere. Heartis has truly become a second home for my father-in-law, and it's easy to see why. The combination of excellent facilities, top-notch staff, and a vibrant community makes it a standout choice for independent living. I highly recommend Heartis Assisted Living facility – I would happily retire there myself if my wife would let me!

Just as an hour tour of Heartis isn't enough time to give a real picture of life here, my review isn't going to be just a few lines. When you talk to someone for 5 or 10 minutes you don't get to know them. It takes about a month to get acclimated to living here. No, it's not home but it's a good second choice. It is the next chapter of your life. Linda Wiley, the Executive Director, and Marilyn Hoffman, the Sales Director, lead a caring team. Moving to Heartis for me was scary, like my first day of kindergarten. I had a broken right arm and a damaged left arm from falling. I couldn't do anything for myself, and being the stubborn, independent woman I am it was really hard for me to let someone help me, especially the male nurses. They entered my life at Rehab. My dignity survived. I was treated with respect and consideration. I didn't yell at or demand help from the staff. I learned their names and tried to treat them with the respect they deserved. They are a hard working group and sometimes work long hours. I couldn't do it. It takes a special person. The other areas of staff are wonderful, too. They take their jobs seriously whether it's cleaning a room, planning activities, making our food and creating menus, answering questions and the phone at the Concierge desk. Also, making sure everything is working, Meds are delivered, showers are given. All over on the three floors services are being carried out. Visitors walking past the dining room make comments and not all of us are hard of hearing. A comment I particularly like is the one where a wife will say to her husband "this is what happens to you when you don't take care of yourself". It only takes a fall, an accident, a stroke, or a disease to find yourself moving here. No ages are immune. At Heartis we are products of the 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, and 60's. Heartis offers so many choices for entertainment and exercise. Laughter Yoga is a great way to relieve stress. It's addictive it's so much fun and relaxing. There are all kinds of board games, dice games, Bingo, and Card games. There are two movie theaters and movies three days a week with popcorn. The Heartis bus takes residents to the doctor's office on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday it takes the residents shopping at various stores. Besides the shopping trips, there are numerous side trips offered. Swimming is available at our beautiful pool. Check out the views from the balcony on the 3rd floor. Stunning! The location of Heartis overlooking Roberts Bay is spectacular! Who thinks 90 is old? They have the most fascinating stories to tell. Several of my friends are 92 and over. They have seen so much of life and they are treasures. When you see someone in a Senior Living Facility, don't feel sorry for us until you've been in our shoes. We have just moved to a new stage of our lives, the new normal. Outside our apartment doors is a whole new world. If you are hungry there are three dining rooms. The Main dining Room, AL, and Valeo the Memory Care section. A friend said it was like living in a resort, and once I left my apartment there were people all around and you didn't have to be lonely or feel scared. Two of the reasons I stayed when I was getting ready to leave Assisted Living. I feel safe and I have so many friends. We are a family. Notice I didn't say "like a family?" We feel that way about the staff, too. Occasionally we may have problems, but it's human nature. It's not a perfect world. We work through it. Sometimes it's because it's just not a good fit. Just when you think you've heard and seen it all something else happens. It's life! Guilt is a major crux in getting that special someone to move into a Senior Living Facility. We help with smiles and friendship. They work wonders. Then there's that "big hug" of feeling safe. One last thing is when we get a new resident we welcome their family to our family. When you are proud of your family you like to show them off, it brings the biggest smiles to resident's faces. ~Linda Bogner

My parents moved into Heartis in June and absolutely love it. I was concerned for the safety of them living on their own and after visiting heartis it was an easy decision to move them there. My mom is a food snob, and I’m totally surprised that She loves the food and has actually gained about 8 pounds which she needed to do. They’ve made friends and very much like the property. I really need to say some very positive words about the staff as everybody that I encounter goes out of their way to say hello and be kind to both myself and my parents. They even know me on a first name basis when I visit. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and he assured me that my parents would be well taken care of and he has delivered on his word. Thank you Heartis! Dan Holum
