When I was looking for an assisted living facility for my father, I knew that I wanted a community that would encompass assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing with therapy rehabilitation if it was needed. The Gables on Pelham has all of these resources on site and seemed to be the perfect solution. Right from the start, the people we were dealing with were friendly and caring. My 95 year old father has been at The Gables for about a year and a half and has really flourished. He has made some great friends and has been getting physical therapy regularly. He has been able to walk on his own without any assistance, not even with a walker, and is receiving therapy twice a week. It has made a significant difference in his mobility. A few weeks ago, my father suffered a fall in his room. As soon as they realized something was wrong, the staff was quick to respond. Cynethia Allison, the Health and Wellness Director, contacted me immediately. She explained what happened and had EMS take him to the emergency room. He was hospitalized for a couple of days. During his entire stay at the hospital, Cynethia reached out to me several times to check on his status. She is a professional, caring person who exhibits an unbelievable amount of compassion and empathy. The Gables welcomed him back into skilled nursing to begin his rehabilitation and was there just a few days. Unlike some rehab facilities, there was no question about admitting him into skilled nursing from the hospital since he was a resident at The Gables. The staff there made the entire process a smooth transition. Cynethia again stayed in constant touch with me on his progress. He was moved back to his own apartment where she set up on-site physical therapy. She arranged for his meals to be delivered to his apartment daily until he had the confidence to walk on his own back to the dining room. The entire staff at The Gables on Pelham really showed their concern by not only speaking with me while on my regular visits to see my father, but stopping in to see him and his progress, too. Cynethia's team members are super nice to him and always go above and beyond in his care. Her leadership is evident in their training. After this incident I am confident that our choice, The Gable on Pelham, was the best choice for my father. Their associates are, in my opinion, among the best, from nursing, administration, and marketing, to maintenance. Each associate displays an enormous amount of pride and care. I am forever indebted to them and at total peace knowing that every moment of every day my father is safe and in excellent hands.

My father is currently in the Skilled Nursing for Rehab. He has been here for a couple of weeks now and has shown huge improvement thanks to Sonia and her therapy team. The nursing staff as well as dietary staff have gone above and beyond for my daddy. Housekeeper Miss Ann always making sure this place is clean and smelling good. The Gables on Pelham Skilled nursing and Rehab was the right choice for my daddy. Keep up the good work.

If I could give this rehab facility NO stars I would. This facility has no respect or genuine care for their residents. They allow residents to not be given human dignity of being kept clean and not keeping at bay health concerns. I witnessed absolutely no concern for health issues. It is a person's right to know what medication is being given to them and many times was complained to that the medication was just being shoved at them with out the time being taken to explain what the medications were. I found meditation on the floor and when I pointed it out to staff it was just picked up and thrown in trash. Many issues were brought up by myself and others to the staff members including the nurse manager and we were all responded to with lies and rudeness. Not only was care non existent but the cleanliness was lacking. I found no paper towels in the bathroom and since that was the only way to dry your hands the resident had nothing. When I mentioned it to staff they did not rectify the problem. At one time the floor of the room was so filthy that I asked a staff member for a broom to sweep it myself and the staff member said she was busy didn't have time and didn't offer to get it done. Since it was not taken care of I found another staff member to ask. During a covid postive event a cardboard trashcan was put in the corner of the room and it went un emptied. It was overflowing with isolation gowns, mask, and uneaten food boxes. If you care even a little bit for someone do not let them go to this rehab facility.

Skilled nursing here is awesome. I could go on forever how awesome they are. Ideally their goal is to get your loved one recovered which they were successful with my great grandmother. They encourage to get your loved ones out of the bed and up rolling in wheelchairs and doing daily therapy. They have good food for what it is. Daily activities are done and residents are encouraged to participate. I felt safe as a family member leaving my great grandma here because I stayed with her In the hospital for 5 days straight because I was scared for her safety. And they take as many precautions as possible for your loved one’s safety. They keep the beds low for residents safety are just a few things but I was impressed with this facility and all that they do and they are covered by Medicare and most supplements for skilled nursing definitely consider this if your looking for a good place for your loved ones to recover.
