It has taken me a long time to be able to write this review. My dad was at Fieldstone Memory Care in Yakima for a year about 3 years ago. He was in a wheelchair and only had use of one arm. I would visit him weekly and my mom visited him 3 to 4 times a week. I observed staff multiple times not paying attention to the patients, especially when they were in the courtyard. His bathroom was always dirty and they didn't give him regular showers unless we asked them to. When we toured the facility, they told us the rooms had emergency pull cords in the rooms in case they needed someone. We later found out the ones in my dad's room didn't work and hadn't worked for over a month. I confirmed this by pulling it myself only to discover no one came. My dad fell while at the facility, we were never notified. My mom came in a couple of days later to find his hand was swollen to double the size it should have been. My mom took him to the ER and he had multiple fractures in his hand and had gone for 2 days with no medical attention. I confronted Amanda, the Exec. Director at the time and she just said she would speak with the staff person because they should have let us know of the fall. Shortly after the fall, Amanda told us we needed to find another facility for him, they were evicting him. She said he was saying inappropriate things to the staff and that the staff were scared of him, but again, he was in a wheelchair with only use of one arm. We had never witnessed these negative interactions nor had other guests we had spoken with. We ended up moving him to another facility where he never had any negative interactions with staff. They all loved him. He was at the new facility for a year before he passed away. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. They're mismanaged and staffing aren't trained appropriately. It saddens me that my dad had to go through this the last part of his life.

During my father's stay at Fieldstone Memory Care, both my mother and I were so appreciative of and touched by the attentive care he received. The thoughtfulness and dedication of each staff member with whom we interacted was impressive. It was obvious that they very much cared about their work and their patients. And there were times at which Zaundra and her team just went way above and beyond what we could have ever expected. We feel very fortunate that my father spent his final months in such an excellent facility. We couldn't have asked for a better situation. And I should add that it's not just the direct care side of the organization that stands out; the other aspects of the process (e.g., finance, administration, etc.) benefit from highly caring and competent staff as well. That really helped to reduce stress at a time that already involved plenty. I highly recommend Fieldstone.

We were fortunate to have connected with Michelle Perales when my sister-in-law was needing help due to her dementia. Michelle went above and beyond assisting us with the process of placing Kathy in assisted living, and even accompanied her and a friend to a doctor's appointment to obtain the admission orders. We quickly discovered that my SIL would need Memory Care Services, and Michelle and staff again assisted us with the transition to a more secure unit. All of the staff have been helpful, warm, and compassionate, both with my SIL and with my husband and I as we deal with her progressive dementia. I can't think of a better place for her to live, and am so grateful to each staff member for their care.
