Unfortunately profit is management’s only concern. They will accept anyone, even those whose needs can’t be met. While they expect you to pay an arm and a leg, they will also be cutting back, even on basic needs like tissue paper. Regardless of how hard working some caretakers may be, the reality is it’s always short staffed with too many residents to care for. Ultimately, if you or your family has more demanding needs, this will not be the right place for them, as there’s typically only two PCA working at a time to 60 residents, making it impossible to provide the care your loved ones deserve.

I will be totally honest with you about Edgewood Castle Hills. Grab your coffee and get ready to read!!!!! 1. Do not eat the food unless you want to have explosive diarrhea. The food is not always cooked all the way through and most of it is a fake product and the same thing over and over. Most of the residents here complain about the food and drinks, the small amount of food they receive and how it is always cold. Do you want your mom or dad to always have Diarrhea and not be fully fed??????? 2. Wages for the PCA/MT are not worth working here. If i were you I would run away as fast as you can!!!!!! Most of the PCA/ MT here will not help, do their job, or are too busy getting high out front with residents. The pay for PCA/MT 16- 20. If you want to be overworked this is the place for you. You will never know if the staff on the next shift will show up, the amount of calls you will get to come in on your days off, no breaks PERIOD, no free food, no bonuses, no life, management doesnt care about your personal life, you have to be server in the dining room while trying to do the job you were hired for. While the servers who were hired in the kitchen just sit back and do nothing. 3. THE ED!!!! Now lets take a seat and grab that popcorn........ DONT TRUST HER AT ALL!!!!!! She only cares about how many residents they can get to move in so they can make more money..... Even though the more money they make on the residents move in they dont give their workers higher pay. This is supposed to be a assisted living/ independent living retirement place however, the ED will bring in dementia residents, bed bond residents, and residents that need a hoyer to be moved. They do not have a shower room/ shower area that the pca/mt can use to fully get residents clean. They need to take down a whole room and build a shower room. Imagine being in a bathroom about the size of a closet and the pca cant get to both sides of your body clean. EWWWWWWWWWWW............ All the residents complain about the ED and how she is such &*($)*#)%*#(*%. Well this is the end of my rant!!!!!! DO NOT LET YOUR FAMILY MEMBER move in or dont apply to work here!!!!!!!

My grandmother is a resident of this facility. I was shocked to see her wheeling herself from the dining room to her room as she is 95 years old and weighs 79 lbs. My grandfather would always assist in pushing her chair for her, but unfortunately he passed away shortly after they moved in. My grandma depended on him for almost everything and I don’t feel this facility is helping her the way she needs. The towel in her bathroom seemed to have been used for over a week without being washed, and she complained that the assistants won’t grab her clothing that fits and are always putting her in clothes that are far too big. She also mentioned that if she needs anything “extra” like having new socks unpackaged and placed in her drawer, no one will do it for her. This woman is so weak and frail; she paid a pretty penny to reside here & I feel sad leaving her there as I live out of state. Being employed at an assisted living facility should mean that you go above and beyond for these poor individuals who are there because they can’t do the simplest tasks alone. Please do better so their families don’t have to worry about their well-being, or why they spent so much money to not be fully taken care of.

The new owners and their manager, Bobby, have been informed that the lot they own to the east of their property contains dangerous goatheads. Have chosen to do nothing because of cost. Is dangerous for children, dogs and cyclists and their own residents who frequently walk by the lot. Would not want to live in a place that puts cost savings way ahead of safety. Bad neighbor. Wish they weren't in our community. Will spread the word!!
