Their level of care and assistance is great. The new executive director of nursing made many positive changes and it’s apparent. The facility is very clean, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Maintenance is responsive to needs. If they could improve the dining/kitchen area by adding or changing the menu more frequently, I would have given them a five star! My loved one would love to see some basic simplistic meals such as baked chicken, meatloaf, spaghetti and meatballs or meat sauce, or even a vegetable platter! Overall very pleased with the facility.

When first moving my mom to Cranes View Memory Care we were so impressed by both the facility and the staff. The staff were patient with mom, greeted her warmly and did everything they could to make her feel comfortable. Sadly, over the past 5-6 months staff seem overworked, don’t have time to have friendly chats with her and often times are difficult to even find. Perhaps staffing has been reduced to cut costs? The charge nurse in memory care is always kind, patient and listens when something is brought to her attention. She genuinely cares about the residents and tries to ensure they receive excellent care. She works with, supports and encourages her patient care assistants. I know this because my mom is not always the nicest person to try to help. Nafeesa mentors and supports the staff to encourage the best possible experience for everyone. She is a rare gem. Housekeeping has declined recently. I have reported these issues. Again, I believe this could be due to short staffing. The monthly charges to keep a loved one at Cranes View should definitely allow for proper staffing. I hope moving forward this is addressed. If not, studies have shown that good (or great) staff seek employment where they are appreciated and there is a proper staff to resident ratio. Residents loved ones may also consider different a different facility. Please enhance staffing rather than letting this happen.

After touring every assisted living facility in Clermont we were absolutely impressed with Alto. The staff is kind and caring, the residents are friendly and the facility is amazing. My mom (who didn’t want to go to assisted living) absolutely loves it here. She says the food is delicious and they have tons of activities. She’s only been a resident for a month but already has made so many new friends. She even participates in the activities - something she was convinced she wouldn’t do. We are also very pleased with her individual apartment. Bigger space, granite countertops, fresh paint, clean and well cared for. All around wonderful experience! Our family would highly recommend Alto of Clermont.

This review is specifically regarding the memory care component, not the entire building. The sales managers will say and do anything to get you to pay the $3,000 entry fee and move your loved one to their care. After we explained, repeatedly, that Dad needed medication to help him rest and combat his Lewy Body Dementia hallucinations, they assured us that their geriatric psychologist would see him right away and get him started with medication. This never happened. Instead, they insisted that the man who entered the building walking independently for 80% of the day (and using a rolling walker the other 20%) needed to use a wheelchair "for safety", and did not address the sleeping problems or hallucinations until Dad "started causing problems with other residents". Just one week in, they hospital dumped him at our least preferred hospital in the area and told us he could not return. There is a reason the Memory Care unit's nursing supervisor left, and a reason so many rooms there are empty. Bait and switch, followed by a hospital dump and utter lack of care or concern. Stay far, far, away.
