Cottagewood Mankato

The last 18 months of my dad's life were spent at Cottagewood and I can't say enough about the care and kindness he received. The small and cozy atmosphere made all the difference-not just for my dad, but for our family as well. The staff were very patient and caring and treated the residents with dignity and affection, making sure they were safe and well cared for. Because of the small setting, he never felt lost in the shuffle. The commons room and outdoor patio were great places to bring his grandchildren to visit and we all felt very comfortable there. I am very grateful to Cottagewood for making my dads time there peaceful, dignified, and full of care. The director was very motivated toward this goal. I would highly recommend Cottagewood to anyone looking for a memory care center that feels like home.

Administrator Nick and RN Laura are very pleasant to work with. Both Re very knowledgeable in what they do and helpful. I have not encountered any problems with the care workers this facility which is Cottagewood Senior assisted living and memory care unit in Mankato Mn. Francis and Nancy Zeiher

When it came time to needing to find a place for our Dad to reside due to needing over sight we toured many facilities in the Mankato area. The one place that stood out from the rest was Cottagewood . Was it easy for Dad to leave his home which he knew and loved into a place that was not familiar to him and he knew no one, i would say no but the staff were so kind , patient and knew how to deal with Dad and his needing time to adjust . Dad did adjust to his new home and as weeks passed Dad became quite attached to the staff and loved joking around with them and loved greeting staff and visitor's at the door . The staff never once made my Dad or family feel like he wasent important . I never worried about his safety or that his needs weren’t being met . He was truly loved at Cottagewood and we were so fortunate that in Dad's last days on earth he was able to be surrounded by his family and his Cottagewood family . We are eternally grateful to Cottagewood for the love and care they gave to our Dad .

Let's be honest, there's no place like home ... but when that's no longer an option Cottagewood Senior Community in Mankato is absolutely the BEST place to be & the closest thing you'll ever find to an "at home" environment. The staff is wonderful, very approachable, compassionate, & they truly care about the residents. The smaller facility size is very inviting & creates a homey, family-type environment. They do an excellent job of engaging the residents in activities that are important to them & give them a sense of purpose - Mom has helped with meal preps, played the piano, helped with yard clean up, etc which she loves. Speaking of meals, the food at Cottagewood is always fabulous! The courtyard is beautiful & gives residents a safe place to spend time outdoors. Music therapy (awesome), activities, a nice walk-in jet tub, 4 living rooms with TVs, an on-site hair salon, & on-site medical appts are among the other amenities residents enjoy. My parents have lived at Cottagewood for 2+ yrs (Dad recently passed away), & they've told us MANY times how much they love living there & how great the staff is. Before this my parents had a horrible living experience in a different long term care facility - after several unsuccessful attempts to fix the situation we moved them to Cottagewood. It was the best thing we ever did! Is Cottagewood 100% perfect? Honestly no place is ... but this is the closest to perfect you'll ever find. Your loved one will be happy & love it here, & you will always have peace of mind knowing that they are safe, well taken care of, treated with respect, & truly cared about. I highly recommend Cottagewood, it's the best!
