My father is living at Commonwealth in Hampton on Topping Lane. He moved in about 3 weeks ago. It was a difficult move for him because he had lived in his other place for many years. Commonwealth has really been there for him. The people there care for him like family! They go out of their way always showing kindness. The aides, med techs, techs, house keeping, food service, maintenance and front desk employees are all warm and welcoming!! It's the people that make the place!! We are very happy that we made this move for him. Update It has been 6 months now since my dad moved in. They have truly gotten to know him and have a personal plan for him. There are many special workers there that have meant so much. I'll name a few... Deneen, Elma, Mariah, and Tory.. I'll need to update this with some more!!! This place couldn't not run without these and other very dedicated employees!

We moved our mom, Jeanette, in to her new apartment today and what a great experience! Alma was so helpful with our furniture move over the weekend and even came to get my mom to have lunch with the residents both Saturday and today. By lunch today, Mom had a whole new set of friends! Every one of them were so sweet and welcoming. The Director, Heather, could not have been more accommodating throughout the entire onboarding experience. My brothers and I all feel like we have made a wonderful decision in bringing our mom to Commonwealth in Hampton. She is really excited for her next chapter, thanks to the caring and professional staff at Commonwealth!

My mom passed away at the Commonwealth o 6/14/2024. She had Alzheimer's and a very bad bed sore. I came to see and feed my mom almost every day. She was on hospice and I had Medicare and Commonwealth nurses that helped to a certain extent. They gave her 1,000 milligrams of ibuprofen for the bed sore she had. I got to see that bed sore with Medicare one morning and it was the worst thing I had ever seen. On 6/14/ 2024 I visited my mom and she was sitting sideways in her wheel chair breathing heavy and could not respond to me. I told the nurses to let Medicare know how she was doing. They called me at about 5:00 o'clock and said they were putting her on oxygen and starting the morphine. She died that night approximately about 11: 00 pm. Medicare called me and I went to see my mom in her room on her side due to the bed sore. Kissed her cold forehead and told her I loved her and I would see her in heaven one day. This Commonwealth place refused to put her on the morphine which should have been on. She died with no dignity and suffering. And make sure you get all your loved ones belongings out the day after they pass away. They charge you until you get them out.

My grandfather in law lives here, and seems much happier than where he was living before. My mother in law seems much less stressed, and it seems like hygiene taking care of him has improved. He seems more active, and there is light in his room, and a view of birds. I'm a physician and when I initially read the reviews of this place I was worried, but the new management has done just a phenomenal job. They've also done a good job being firm with him about things that are dangerous for him (he has dementia). Laurnea is the tech who takes care of him, and she's always got a smile on her face despite what must be a large workload. Barbara helps him pick out his food (she brings the drinks), and she knows what everyone likes and doesn't like as if they are her family! I've also been told good things about Gale. But the best of all are Alma and Danine, who are able to finally get him to take his medications and get clean. Thanks for making the whole family's life better.
