Although my mom was only at CSL Churchland House for a short time (came there compromised after neglect at another facility), I found the staff to be caring, friendly and competent. I was at peace during her stay there. Both administrative staff and direct care personnel were professional and courteous. I would have started with care there had I known about this location. For some reason “A Place for Mom” did not recommend/refer them, and I should have done a more thorough search myself. I strongly recommend this community and encourage others seeking help for their loved ones to visit as many places as possible before making a decision of this magnitude.

My mom has been a resident here for almost a month, and I am thoroughly pleased with the care she receives, the facility and the staff. She was at another facility (not affiliated with Commonwealth Senior Living at Churchland House), and it was horrible. I am so glad that we moved her here and would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a wonderful place for your loved one to live. They make sure the residents are taken good care of.

We didn't know what to expect when moving a family member into assisted living and the staff was great, very patient and informative, especially Katrina and Luke. The facility is clean and inviting with lots of activities for residents to partake in. We are pleased with everything and everyone we have interacted and would recommend this facility. Oh after a few month how things can change. I should have been suspect of how badly they wanted us to sign the contract by offering concessions, lower daily rates. The management staff is not responsive to requests and unorganized. The facility staff were somewhat more responsive but not always professional and polite with residents, yelling at residents, who are paying very high prices to receive care. It became apparent that the facility staff were not trained and capable of attending to residents that need special care and who are not always accepting and willing. The staff that administer medication appear to medicate to sedate as opposed to treating resident's with care. Even after concerns being raised to care staff and management, they refused to take any responsibility for the "care" they provided that landed my loved one in the hospital due to an overdose of a narcotic and remained in the hospital for almost a month, not being able to return to assisted living and needing more care. One would think that if someone is sleeping on average of 22 hours a day and not drinking or eating, they would reevaluate the medication someone is receiving and change the care plan. On top of mismanaged care, I had to reach out to the corporate office, because the Executive Director was non-responsive, due to being overcharged in previous months and being required to give 30 day notice to vacate - pay for time that my loved one was in the hospital due to their inability to care for them. I would not recommend this facility or group to anyone, unless you want your loved one neglected, all they are concerned about is their bottom line. I cannot say it enough, I would caution anyone seeking care from this facility.
