Care
Assisted Living
A living option for seniors or individuals who require assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, or medication management while maintaining a level of independence. Assisted living facilities offer personalized care plans and social activities that promote quality of life for their residents.
Independent Living
Designed to help older adults who want to maintain an active and independent lifestyle, these communities offer services and amenities that cater to residents’ needs, while encouraging a sense of community and freedom from the responsibilities of owning a home.
Memory Care
Memory care communities offer specialized care and support for individuals dealing with memory-related conditions, such as Alzheimer’s or dementia. These facilities are equipped with trained staff and offer engaging activities designed to promote well-being while ensuring a safe living environment.
Respite Care
Respite care is short-term or temporary care. Respite care can be provided in adult day centers, in private homes via home health agencies and in senior living communities, most often assisted living or skilled nursing facilities.
Neighborhood
Pulling from a variety of reliable data sources, Walk Score® measures the walkability of any address, helping you understand how easy it is to live a car-free lifestyle. Transit Score®, when available, measures how well a location is served by public transit. Scores range from 0 to 100, with higher scores indicating more amenities within walking distance and diverse transit options nearby.

I was an Employee. They treat there staff with so much disrespect. They never did anything for employees, never recognized during housekeeping week, cna week, nurse week or even at Christmas time. Jori would be rude, role her eyes at you and get smart. She got married to the maintenance man and he don’t do much but walk around and talk about other employees because he knows everyone’s business because Jori tells him. The residents talk bad about her. Troy sits in the garage smoking cigarettes. Tracy who was the Director was just as bad, she sat in her office playing with her Dog all day long. She talked about employees to other employees. Had a very smart mouth to everyone. Her and Jori, Troy and Emily did not like each other so they all would roll eyes in our so called Roots meetings. I was forced to quit because Tracy and Stephanie decided to change my hours knowing I had a second job to go to. Corporate didn’t care about much as long as it had nuthing to do with them!! Stephanie should not have the position she does. She’s not friendly at all. They have so many employees that have quit and I mean good employees due to Tracy, Jori, Troy, and Lucy. They have no compassion for Employees and sometimes the Residents. Troy and Jori like to talk about them and Troy wishes he could put residents out. I rate this place as a 0 and I would never put a relative at Bickford Peoria!!

My mom has been at Bickford on Willow Knolls in Peoria, Illinois since 6/28/24, 2 months and 3 weeks. It was a bumpy start with poor CNA care. Issues addressed. Changed for the better. Now having communication issues with Health and Wellness Director RN. After a phone conversation with her regarding changes to my mom’s care plan, I followed up with 6 texts. It has been 3 weeks with 1 text reply stating she would call me. Never did. Called today 9/20/24 to speak to Director. Left voicemail after speaking to Family Advocate who was also going to email director to call me. No call back. I was overall very happy with Bickford but this issue of being ignored regarding requests to change the care plan is unacceptable. This is not what the Higher Path looks like for my mom. 10-07-24 Still no contact from facility. So disappointed.

As a private contractor offering specialized painting therapy, Bickford welcomed me with open arms! The residents always a delight to work with whether in memory care or assisted living. Even though the two areas require a different type of care, one thing that is consistent is caring staff who are attentive to their needs. Often times assisted living residents voiced to me how much they enjoy their lives there with a variety of activities and how the director always made them feel welcome and kept things running smoothly. Lastly I think the location of the facility makes it easy for family to find it to be accessible in their busy schedules.

Shana Nelson is the new Executive Director at Bickford. Under her guidance your loved one will be well taken care of. No doubt in my mind she is my daughter. I can personally tell you she is dedicated to helping others. Her work ethic speaks for itself. She has 20 years plus working with the aging. She is a wonderful mother, daughter and friend. Beautiful clean facility.
