The facility is absolutely beautiful and elegant. However, the courtyard is pitiful. There’s a lot of work that needs to be done for that area to match the rest of the facility. Things need to be trimmed up, a lot of weeds out there with a little bit of grass that’s out there needs to be cut and the mulch needs to be put down. That should be an area where your residence can go outside and enjoy.

Bickford of Chesapeake is a wonderful place! The nurses and staff display such great compassion, competence, confidence, conscience and commitment to the residence and their visitors. The food is always delicious: breakfast, lunch and dinner! Bickford Family Members are always respectfully and kind. The atmosphere is bright, warm and welcoming. Great place for your loved ones (:

I visited Bickford of Chesapeake and am impressed with their approach to care using the Higher Path. The team was actively interacting and caring for residents. The building's design was so homey and warm. If you are looking for a healthier, happier, safer place for your loved one you should visit Bickford.

I do not reccomend this place if your loved one has special dietary needs or is room bound. While there are a few amazing staff members many of them seem not to care. Room not being cleaned, wrong food being delivered, and call button being ignored.
