Care
Assisted Living
A living option for seniors or individuals who require assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, or medication management while maintaining a level of independence. Assisted living facilities offer personalized care plans and social activities that promote quality of life for their residents.
Memory Care
Memory care communities offer specialized care and support for individuals dealing with memory-related conditions, such as Alzheimer’s or dementia. These facilities are equipped with trained staff and offer engaging activities designed to promote well-being while ensuring a safe living environment.
Respite Care
Respite care is short-term or temporary care. Respite care can be provided in adult day centers, in private homes via home health agencies and in senior living communities, most often assisted living or skilled nursing facilities.
Neighborhood
Pulling from a variety of reliable data sources, Walk Score® measures the walkability of any address, helping you understand how easy it is to live a car-free lifestyle. Transit Score®, when available, measures how well a location is served by public transit. Scores range from 0 to 100, with higher scores indicating more amenities within walking distance and diverse transit options nearby.

MOVED OUT AFTER 8 DAYS I wish I could give 0 stars. Bickford Assisted Living in Champaign has proven to be a nightmare. I placed our elderly mother, a sharp-minded 91-year-old, in this facility under the false pretense of receiving adequate care. The reality was far from it. Much of the staff, primarily "caregivers" rather than certified nursing assistants, were incapable of providing the basic care our mother required. This led to a series of neglectful incidents, including missed meals, unadministered medications, and prolonged wait times for urgent assistance. The facility's disregard for patient well-being was evident in their slow response times to call buttons. On multiple occasions, I was forced to leave after waiting over 10 minutes for someone to answer the door. There were times when I walked the hallways looking for a caregiver and never seeing one. Rarely did anyone ever answer the phone. The financial burden added to the emotional distress. Despite moving our mother out after only eight days, we are still awaiting a refund for the advanced room and board fee. We strongly advise anyone considering Bickford Assisted Living to reconsider. The facility's negligence, lack of transparency, and financial irresponsibility make it a dangerous place for vulnerable individuals.

We have been very dissatisfied with Bickford of Champaign. We placed a $5000 deposit to hold a room for my mother in law, with repeated (4x) reassurances from Roxanne Kelley that the sum would be fully refundable should my mother in law not go to live there for any reason. When we chose another memory care facility, Roxanne Kelley told us the check would be issued by the financial department. Two months later, she told us the money was not refundable and that we had signed a contract, which we in no way entered into. We asked her to produce this non-existent contract, which she could not do. We are still waiting for our refund, now needing to seek legal council and reaching out to the Illinois Department of Aging Long Term Care Ombudsman Program. I belong to a large Women's Support Group for Caregivers of people with dementia, and have reached out to them to share this problem, and they have advised reaching out to the State Attorney General's office, our local State Representative, the News Gazette and Advocates for Aging. All this while trying to settle my mother in law into another memory care facility. It's too bad Bickford couldn't just do the right thing and stand by their word. Update: We submitted a complaint through their online family complaint hotline, and did receive a call back within a week. Their regional division director, Stephanie Smith, looked into the matter, and we had our refund within another week.

This place is great. The décor is nice and cozy. The staff are friendly and attentive. The cafe had pretty good food, and the rooms are nice and your activities directors is hands down the best she takes so much dedication in her work.
