Care
Assisted Living
A living option for seniors or individuals who require assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, or medication management while maintaining a level of independence. Assisted living facilities offer personalized care plans and social activities that promote quality of life for their residents.
Memory Care
Memory care communities offer specialized care and support for individuals dealing with memory-related conditions, such as Alzheimer’s or dementia. These facilities are equipped with trained staff and offer engaging activities designed to promote well-being while ensuring a safe living environment.
Respite Care
Respite care is short-term or temporary care. Respite care can be provided in adult day centers, in private homes via home health agencies and in senior living communities, most often assisted living or skilled nursing facilities.
Neighborhood
Pulling from a variety of reliable data sources, Walk Score® measures the walkability of any address, helping you understand how easy it is to live a car-free lifestyle. Transit Score®, when available, measures how well a location is served by public transit. Scores range from 0 to 100, with higher scores indicating more amenities within walking distance and diverse transit options nearby.

My mother has been a resident of Bickford now for two months after being in a different facility for nearly five years. The care she is receiving now is noticeably better than what she had been receiving (in the other facility). Over the holidays family members noticed that she was clean and well, unlike last year's holiday experience. In the other facility my mother had chronic UTIs (almost every 6-8 weeks). We were told this was most likely due to a lack of hygiene... so we started paying the $18/day "hygiene upgrade." We did this for six months. She continued getting sick and we noticed her clothes, her bed, and her body were rarely clean. I started bathing her, doing her laundry, and changed her sheets each week which seemed ridiculous. It was apparent, she was not receiving adequate care; we needed to change facilities. We have been VERY PLEASED at Bickford. Her clothes are washed weekly, and she has always been clean (they see that she is bathed twice a week). And every time I hug my mother goodbye, her hair smells nice. She has not had even one UTI (knock on wood!). What a remarkable difference. Perhaps what I am most impressed with at Bickford is the staff, where the resident-to-staff ratio is MUCH better than what we experienced before. And from what I have observed, there has not been any turn-over (which was quite frequent in the other facility). I visit my mother several times a week and EVERY staff member has been extremely professional, courteous, and caring. They know my mother by name and many of them greet me (call me by name) as well. It's hard to find such good, loving people...I know they are because I see their smiles every time I visit. Their work is under-appreciated but is so critical at this stage in people's lives. In my opinion, they're all saints! They also love when I bring my Golden Retriever too -so what's not to love about that! I wish there was more I could do to express my gratitude to the people at Bickford. Five stars just isn't enough!

As the owner a large homecare provider in Columbus, I want to share my experience over the past 8-years with the Bickford team. Especially, Natasha and Haley more recently. Both have been kind and helpful when I refer clients to their assisted living for tours or information. My referrals tell me they are treated with respect and treated with care and patience as they navigate what is the best avenue to care for their loved one. I couldn't recommend them more highly having had my clients move in long term and many others who have had all their questions answered in a timely manner. My wife was in Memory Care for about 6 weeks. I took my wife to the ER and found out she became severely constipated while under Bickford's care. Needless to say, I moved her out of Bickford. Once I got her home, I discovered one of her medicines was changed by Bickford without the knowledge of my wife's Specialist or myself.Workers were great. Management is concerning. Certified letters to three different corporate executives went unanswered.

Natasha and her team continue to do a great job at the Bickford. My mother has been living there for five years. And at 91, she still enjoys every day. Thanks so much for your good work at the Bickford!
