My mother has only been at Atria Sugar Land for a few weeks, but so far we give them 5 stars. The atmosphere is welcoming and down to earth, not over the top fancy like some places we checked out ... where Grandma would not have been comfortable. The staff is very friendly and ready to help you, and the food is good. My mother is 90 yrs old, & has lived in her house for over 68 yrs; she was adamant about not leaving her home and even threatened to "walk out of the front door, and just keep on walking" when we told her that we were moving her to an apartment on the recommendations of her doctor. After a week at Atria she has changed her tune, saying that she wishes she could be at her house, but if that is no longer possible, this is a nice place to be. I will also add that my husband & I are very surprised, relieved, & impressed by the fact that we did not receive the ton of calls, texts, or emails from Atria that we got from another facility we looked at a few miles away. We did not feel that we were being pressured into anything, nor were we pushed to act immediately or risk missing out out an opportunity for our loved one; like we were by the other place. Sherri has been very upfront with us, has gone out of her way to help my mother settle in and start feeling like this is her home. And we have yet to come across a staff member who isn't friendly and willing to help you out, or answer questions.

Over a year ago, we moved my father-in-law into Atria Sugar Land from his long-time residence over an hour away. His whole demeanor changed at Atria when he realized he was safe and secure and surrounded by people who cared only for his safety and well-being. He quickly made friends, and it wasn't long before the staff had him participating in group activities. Atria Sugar Land has a wonderful small-town feel that has everyone feeling comfortable and welcome in no time.

I have a relative living at Atria, Sugar Land. He's close to 90 years old. The staff are taking very good care of him. He is quite happy and has made friends; having settled in well. Recently he had an event which the staff recognized as a medical emergency. An ambulance was called and he was hospitalized. Now he's back and is doing well. I really appreciate the professionalism, kindness, and care he has been receiving at Atria.
