Arbor Landing at Hampstead

Arbor Landing at Hampstead was a very good choice for my dad. The staff genuinely cares for residents even coming to visit when he had to move to assisted living. It’s a beautiful facility and well-maintained. Nichole and team do a great job.

The inviting entrance and fabulous decor throughout is not an empty "lure" to gain the approval of prospective clients. It is a testament to the high level of care offered by this facility. Most notably, the security practices are thorough. There is a greeter at the front door where visitors sign in. Random walk-ins are not free to roam the corridors at will. The memory care wing has a secured entry and a bell to gain access. The bell is answered promptly. In that wing, staff is always present while residents enjoy the large screen television or the secured outdoor area. Also, the staff interacts consistently with the residents through conversation, story telling, games, etc. At meal time, food is not "plopped" on a medical overbed table in the resident's room as though they were in a hospital. All the residents eat in a community environment. The daily fares are tastefully served in a pleasant atmosphere, similar to a "nice" restaurant. One added perk... There is a very special "overseer" on site daily who offers residents companionship and unconditional love. His name is Rhett Butler! No, not the debonaire character of legend, but a highly trained emotional support dog. He helps encourage social interaction and promotes mental and physical health. What a joy! Interestingly, Arbor Landing does not cost as much as some subpar facilities available in Wilmington and vicinity! Be sure to put it high on your list of considerations! Thanks to the dedicated staff of Arbor Landing who touch the hearts of residents and guests alike!

My father has been at Arbor Landing for about 3 months now. The folks there have been wonderful. It is a great environment with caring people. It was hard to for us since Dad really did not want to move from his home, but it was time, and the folks at Arbor Landing have really helped with the transition.
