American House Sterling Woods

American House is a great place for Senior Living! The residents have a great time socializing and enjoying each others company! It’s such a pleasure to see the smiles when I walk in the door! The apartments available are very nice! They are roomy and updated with all the amenities of home but a little safer for the residents! The staff here helps the residents feel comfortable with the transition and their families feel more at ease that their family members will be cared for like family! Stop in and check them out! I promise you will wish you had come sooner!

recently, I asked to go somewhere with their transportation. On their website, they say personal and schedule transportation they do not I repeat, not say there’s a distance limit. Once again they lie because we can’t go further than 10 miles which is ridiculous. we have had several other issues here. We have lived in this complex for a year and the windows have yet to be cleaned. Although residents have issues with incontinence, etc., they don’t clean the carpet unless the resident pays for it. There should be a cleaning of the carpet to take care of the problems because they are renting to people with issues and they know it. in regular apartments where I paid less they came and cleaned the carpets for free once a year because they were sane!!!

My parents have been residents at the American House Sterling location for approximately a year. Overall, we've had a positive experience with the facilities and the American House staff. While there have been a few issues with the meal service, such as turnover and supply/pricing issues, we understand these challenges and try to keep an open mind. However, the reason for the 1-star review is the medical services subcontracted to a third-party provider. We pay a monthly fee for a call button in case assistance is needed. Unfortunately, virtually every time my parents have required service, they've been denied, with the explanation that they are not signed up for services. This is despite the button being active and registered in the med team offices. There's been a constant stream of excuses for why this keeps happening, usually involving missing paperwork or someone not checking the correct file. While apologies are made and commitments to rectify the issue are given, it continues to persist. I hope American House will take action to address this situation. The experience with the medical team is overshadowing an otherwise positive experience.

This is a special place! My initial tour guide, Lois, is a delight! You will be surprised a5 the amenities available for seniors at this Sterling Woods location. This senior residence is well worth your time. It definitelychecked all of my boxes! An added attraction is the outdoor common area patio for all residents. Enjoy your visit! P.S. There's a Meijer's store right across the parking lot to make life simple.
