Affinity at Puyallup is a fun and inclusive community! There are frequent parties, events, and perks to living there such as lemonade Wednesdays, Italian soda day, happy hour Fridays, and sip and shop where vendors set up inside the daylight lounge for an inside market with refreshments. The amenities are well kept and abundant in variety such as a cinema, salt water pool, billiards room, pub, wood work shop, dog wash etc. I recommend this friendly apartment community to any one that qualifies.

Don't expect to get your deposit back. Charged for carpet replacement for carpet that was matted down. We were told by the maintaince guy, that even the the carpet was considered within wear and tear, because the carpet wouldn't fluff up, you would need to replace it. Many of the residents are also complaining about carpet replacement and not getting their deposit back. Affinity likes to rip off the elderly. In response to Affinity. Are you saying that it is acceptable to withhold the deposit for carpet that falls within wear and tear per Washington State RCW which the law says otherwise? I don't care if the deposit is $300 or $500, you don't have the right to replace carpet that has not been damaged and is with in wear and tear definition and charge the renter. We also left the apartment in the same condion when we left but you charged us a cleaning fee. Last, you charged us an extra $155.00 dollars above the deposit amount. However you apparently think it's OK to rip off your residents. Show me where the damage is to the carpet. There is none. Additionally, your maintance guy agreed that this was a cheap contractor grade carpet. So cheap carpet will show signs of wear and tear. But again matted down carpet will "fluff" up after being vacuumed a few times. Everyone knows that including Affinity. However, I suspect that carpet was never replaced since you never sent me a receipt showing cost of labor and materials in addition to the fact there was no damage to the carpet. Additionally, Affinity is way over price for what your charge including tacking on extra charges like a $200.00 occupancy fee. The all inclusive electric, sewer, water, cable and garbage is more expensive then if I paid for my own utilities and just rented the apartment. Talking to one of your elderly residents that just moved in, I was shocked to learn that you were charging the man and his sister $3000 dollars a month and that did not include covered parking or a garage, for a 2 bedroom apartment. Then there's the lack of secuity. It cost me a thousand dollars to get my truck repaired after some POS broke into to my truck. we asked, as well as other residents, that Affinity put up cameras in the back parking lot to identify theifs. Hoewver, Affinity said that was not going to happen and cameras do not detour crime. The police officer filling out the report for my truck disagreed. There is part time security gaurd occasionally sits out back in the early morning and once in awhile during the daytime, but I never seen them out their late in the evening when all of the crime takes place. It's not a great look when you walk out into the parking lot a see cars up on concrete blocks or the windows broken out and items stolen out of the vehicles. Then there's the parking. Why would you make 90% of the parking reserved leaving residents and guess parking way out back where all of the crime takes place? There are better options, just not Affinity. Way over priced and you stick it to your residents on the way out.

I moved here the year it opened (2020) and I'm so thankful I did not procrastinate and seized the opportunity when I first toured with Cathy & Wendy. Although some staff has changed over the years, they continue to be very caring and attentive. Cathy's, or one of the other staff, door is always "open". The couple of times I've had a minor issue, (i.e. my front door key hard to turn) maintenance was at my door the same afternoon or the next morning (when the request was made late in the afternoon) The only downside is the parking. My relatives and friends find it difficult to visit because the front is usually all full. I think in hindsight, reserved spots should not have been allowed in the front of the building by residents and should have been made visitor parking only. I think as spots become vacant, they may be remedying this; I hope so. But as far as being a resident, the building is of high quality; and the amenities, social opportunities rival retirement communities where buy-in is required. I highly recommend it!

We have not had too many issues with our apartment as far as repair work. But when there is an issue the maintenance team quickly responds and gets the job done.
